Every firefighter who responds from Station 158 is a volunteer. Nobody here draws a paycheck. Our members leave work, dinner tables, and beds at 3 a.m. to answer calls in Franklin Park – and they have been doing it for this community since 1922.
What isn't free is the equipment that keeps them alive and effective. Turnout gear, air packs, hose, tools, fuel, and the training that goes with them all carry real costs, and those costs don't pause between emergencies. Your donation goes directly toward the operating expenses of protecting your neighborhood – not salaries, not overhead.

If writing a check isn't where you are right now, we need people even more than we need dollars. There are roles here for every schedule and skill set – firefighting, fire police, driving apparatus, and administrative and fundraising support.
