Franklin Park Brush Fire

At 18:01 Station 158 responded to a reported power line down causing a brush fire along Wexford Run Road, upon arrival 158 Assistant Chief reported a now larger brush fire was traveling up a steep incline towards homes on Matterhorn Drive.

158 Chief arrived and assumed command, the fire continued to grow in size to about one acre, burning undergrowth and some trees.

Members of the Franklin Park Volunteer Fire Company took part in Ladder and Hose drills last Thursday evening. Firefighters were tested on hydrant connection and extended ladder exercises. Fire safety and prevention training held at Bellwood Preschool

Children at Bellwood Preschool took part in a fire safety and prevention event. They were able to ask question and learn about important safety practices that they can do in their own home.
